Jesse Irvin Overholtzer, the founder of Child Evangelism Fellowship, taught his Good News Club leaders this: “We must have faith in trial, persistence in difficulty, and assurance that God will use those He touches. A whole world of unreached children is at stake.” Fort Worth Presbyterian Church is blessed to have 14 youth leaders who take this to heart.
For six weeks each semester of the school year, these young people share the good news of the Gospel with over 200 children from Oakmont Elementary, JT Stevens Elementary, International Congolese Refugee Church, and Impact Mission Congolese Refugee Church through the Super Saturdays program. The Good News Club leaders spend countless hours preparing for each week’s Bible lesson, practicing Gospel in Motion, singing songs, memorizing Bible verses, and praying.
They have also put their training to work in the summer hosting a Bible Camp for local elementary kids, on a mission trip in Romania, and teaching the children of Fort Worth Presbyterian during KIWI (Kids in Worship Instruction).
