Fort Worth Presbyterian Church (PCA)

Hurricane Harvey Disaster Response

Hurricane Harvey has been devastating to so many these past few days including many of our brothers and sisters in the PCA. Over 35 families from PCA churches in South Texas have had flood or wind damage and two churches have had some water damage. Those numbers are sure to climb in the coming days as the damages are further assessed. Many of you have asked how we can best love and serve those affected.

What is the PCA Church doing?

The PCA has a Disaster Response ministry that is on the ground coordinating relief efforts.  First they have established a volunteer disaster response site at Grace PCA, The Woodlands, 8989 Woodlands Pkwy, Spring, TX.  Next, they are pre-positioning equipment; first to arrive is a 12 person bunkhouse trailer on Friday, September 1st. Tuesday, September 5th they will take a shower trailer from North Texas down there. Then they will have a meeting with Houston metro leaders and disaster response coordinators. Also, Park Cities PCA will be bringing 200 flood buckets and 200 hygiene kits down later next week. They may set up other volunteer housing at other churches once they get a better grasp of the situation. The area is still very much under water and is dangerous to travel. And many rescues are still taking place right now!

What can I do?

1. Pray constantly for relief from the storm and for those being rescued and affected by this storm.

2. Give generouslyClick here to support efforts financially. Funds will be used for assessment, mobilization, relief grants for flooded PCA families and churches, to purchase needed supplies and equipment, to construct Sheds of Hope, and to setup and operate flood recovery sites.
