Who We Are
We believe that God’s whole purpose for His people is to make us happy in Him—to make us a people who gladly worship and serve Him. At Fort Worth Presbyterian Church (FWPC), we believe that love is the overflow of joy in God that gladly meets the needs of others. Thus, our vision is to be a congregation that nurtures a joy for loving God and loving people by proclaiming, believing, and living out the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We believe the riches of God’s love compel and enable us to love others. Joyful love helps insure not only that our love is genuine and God-pleasing, but also satisfying and energetic. By loving people, we love God. FWPC encourages such love through small groups, discussion groups, fellowship, mercy ministries, retreats, and missions.
As a Bible-believing community, we also desire the Word of God to inundate our lives. The church offers many venues of studying the Bible together: regular preaching/teaching, Bible study groups, small groups, Christian education classes/Sunday School, and so forth.
We believe God revealed Himself profoundly in the person of Jesus Christ, and through Christ’s death and resurrection, provided salvation for His people. FWPC yearns to worship and rejoice in this God of creation and redemption. We champion His creation as sacred and belonging to Him and eagerly await His renewal of all things.
We bring honor to God by showing forth His character in our lives, and proclaiming the good news of His love in Jesus Christ. Jesus was mighty in word and deed, and now we have the privilege of proclaiming the truth and serving others in love.
